Summit is the DEVDIY theme we point wholesalers to when the buyer is a company. This review walks the order, not the homepage: registration, approval, contract price, minimums, and a quote or sample in the same session. If those steps dump you into a contact form, you do not have a wholesale theme. You have a brochure.
Retail and wholesale do not share a path. Retail is image, cart, payment. Wholesale is an account, then a price that may differ by company. Summit keeps the price region as a structured part of the product template so a price change does not mean hunting through custom HTML.
Who Summit is for
Use Summit when at least two of these are true. Buyers must apply before they see contract prices. Different companies see different prices or minimums. Large orders start as a quote, while samples can be paid by card. The catalog is large enough that filters must speak the language of purchasing: pack size, certification, lead time.
Where it is not the cheapest option
If every visitor may see the same price and serious buyers already negotiate in email, a free theme can still be a prototype. Write an end date. The expensive mistake is letting a prototype become the store because nobody scheduled the second decision.
Install Summit as an unpublished copy first. Check one contracted price and one sample checkout before you publish. Keep the previous theme for forty-eight hours. Rollback is not failure.
